President James Polk Dollar

U.S. Presidential dollar coins were minted for circulation 2007 – 2011. Year of minting, mint mark, 13 stars, and “E Pluribus Unum” (Out of many, one) are inscribed into these coins’ edges. It’s the first time since St. Gaudens Double Eagle (1907–1933) the United States issued a coin with edge lettering!

This is a “2009-P” (Philadelphia) coin sold in Very Choice About Uncirculated condition (AU-58).

James Polk was the 11th president of the United States of America. 1845-1849 signify the years he held office. Polk believed the United States had rights to expand throughout the entire continent.
