The ChurchBooks website address is: https://store.church-publishing.com. This website is a point of sale for Church Publishing, located at church-publishing.com, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Church. Their common goal is to market entertainment that helps people build better, more productive societies.

Information we collect

We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store. While you visit ChurchBooks it tracks products you’ve viewed to show products you’ve recently viewed, and collects location, IP address, and browser agent to estimate taxes and shipping. When you make a purchase you must provide your name, billing address or shipping address, email address, and payment details so we can respond to your order, process charges, issue refunds, comply with legal obligations we have like taxes, improve, and send you marketing if you ask us to. If you create an account, we’ll store your name, address, and email to populate the checkout with your information.

Members of our team have access to this order information you provide including what was purchased, when, and where it should be sent, and information like the customer’s name, email address, and billing and shipping addresses. Stored in the United States, we retain this information for ten years for tax and accounting purposes.

Subscriptions

When you Enroll to email promotions we will collect your name and email address. This information including your IP address may be retained indefinitely so that we can fulfill your request and notify you by email of special offers. This information may be shared with Church Publishing.

Comments

For the many visitors who leave product reviews we collect your name, email, star rating, and comment. Your IP address and a browser user agent string is captured to detect spam using an automated service. And if you use Gravatar then an anonymized string created from your email address is sent to check if you have a profile picture that can appear in public beside your name, review, and star rating. Your email address won’t be posted.

You may Contact Us at any time but your name, email, and any other information you send, including comments and reviews, are indefinitely retained in order to deliver customers the best possible service. We do not use information like email submitted through comments to send you marketing and we never sell this information.

Media

If you add products to ChurchBooks as a sales affiliate then product descriptions including images upload to the website and you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Images become property of Church for use in marketing, are visible to the public, and visitors can download then extract location data from any image you upload to this website.

Cookies

When you leave a review on our site you may opt-in to saving your name and email address as cookies on your computer that autocomplete your details when you leave another review. These cookies last for one year. If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded as soon as you close your browser.

When you login to My Account, we set several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies persist for two days. If you log out of your account these cookies will be removed. But if you select “Remember Me” then the login cookie on your computer will persist for two weeks.

If you upload a product, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data but simply indicates the ID of the ChurchBooks product you added for sale. It expires after 1 day, affiliates’ screen options cookies last for a year.

Data

If you leave a review, the review is owned by ChurchBooks, can be used in marketing including your Gravatar photo, and its metadata is retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments instead of moderating them. And users registering on our website consent to have personal information they provided stored in their user profiles. But these customers can see, edit, or delete their personal information including order information, addresses, payment options (see Payments), and display name at any time (except they cannot change their display name) from My Account. Employees of ChurchBooks can also see and edit this information.

If you have an account on this site, made a purchase, left a review, contacted us, or subscribed to promotions then you can request the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. You can request your personal data from this site or make an information erasure request in writing to ChurchBooks through Contact Us or by emailing us at service@church-publishing.com. You won’t be discriminated against for exercising your right to delete information including your orders but your right does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Data we collect is stored securely in areas of this website accessible only to employees of ChurchBooks that require multiple authentications. Users can’t opt out from use of their personal information because data is never transferred from Church except as required to fulfill orders by verifying addresses, completing payments, and preventing misuse or fraud.

Payments

Payment and credit card data you enter is always encrypted and is never stored at ChurchBooks. When you add payment methods saved to My Account for future purchases those numbers, dates, and verification codes may be stored via SSL by the payment processor Stripe. If you checkout using Google Pay or Apple Pay then you previously stored your cards in Chrome or Safari, respectively. Or, if you checkout using PayPal then it may processes your card details via PayPal’s encryption. Our employees see only that you paid and which company(s) you used to pay, your payment information isn’t saved by us.

We accept payments through the payment processors listed above. When processing payments some of your data, including information required to process or support the payment like purchase total and billing information, name, email, addresses, and/or a unique payment identifier is sent to the payment processor you selected.

PayPal doesn’t share your full financial information with ChurchBooks. PayPal‘s privacy policy can be read here. Stripe is a payment gateway on this site in addition to the option to pay with PayPal that also doesn’t share your financial information with ChurchBooks. Stripe‘s privacy policy can be read here. Google and Apple Payments inform us if you have an account that can be used for making payments in order to reduce the likelihood that you will see unusable features on this site. Google Pay‘s privacy policy can be read here. When you initiate a payment using their button(s) Google Pay, Apple Pay, and PayPal may send your postcode or address information to ChurchBooks over an encrypted connection so we can calculate and update purchase information such as tax, delivery costs, or delivery address.
