Magic Johnson Trading Card

Earvin “Magic” Johnson was selected first overall in the 1979 NBA draft by the Lakers where he played for thirteen seasons. He won a National Basketball Association Championship and an NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award his rookie year. Johnson appeared in the NBA Finals nine times and All-Star game twelve. He won four more championships with the Lakers during the 1980s before retiring then returning to play in the 1992 All-Star Game, winning the All-Star MVP Award. He won on three NBA MVP Awards, led the league in regular season assists four times, is the NBA’s all-time leader in average assists per game at 11.2, and is regarded as the greatest point guard of all time. Johnson returned to the NBA again in 1996, at 36, to play 32 games for the Lakers before retiring his third and final time.
