Iceland Spar

Optical calcite, CaCO₃, is an “anisotropic” material, having different refractive indices depending on direction and polarization of light. Calcite is used to demonstrate “birefringence” so that singular imagery placed below the mineral appears to emanate from two off-center sources. It’s also used for chakra healing.
