Arnold Palmer Stamp

Arnold Palmer helped transform a pastime for the elite into a game for the masses with drive and charisma. This USPS stamp is a photo of Palmer at the 1964 U.S. Open played at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland. He won four Masters tournaments, one U.S. Open, and two British Opens, in all, and his fanatical spectators were nicknamed “Arnie’s Army”.
