1964 Jefferson Nickel

$0.39$2.44

The Jefferson nickel has been the five-cent coin struck by the United States Mint since 1938, when it replaced the Buffalo nickel. Until 2004 this coin’s obverse bore an image by Felix Schlag of Thomas Jefferson, founding father and third U.S. President. This coin’s reverse bears the Mint’s design-competition-requirement for an image of Monticello, the Jefferson house, and is still the Schlag original. 1964 was the LAST YEAR a mint mark, if included, was located to the right of Monticello.
