1971 Eisenhower Dollar

$9.49$9.99

The Eisenhower dollar was the first $1 denomination coin issued by the United States Mint, from 1971 to 1978, since the Peace dollar series ended in 1935. The obverse of this coin depicts President and World War II General Dwight D. Eisenhower. Its reverse was based on the mission patch designed by astronaut Michael Collins (see gallery) honoring the 1969 Apollo 11 Moon mission. This coin was horded by collectors, replaced by the Susan B. Anthony dollar, and is rarely seen in circulation.
