The Canadian “25-cent piece” has been minted from 1870 – present with the value of its composition declining over the years to near nothing. In 1967 and 1968 this coin was minted with 50% pure silver. Queen Elizabeth II Canadian quarters include the inscription D.G. Regina meaning “By the Grace of God” and bear a caribou on their reverse.
