1948 90%-silver Roosevelt Dime

The Roosevelt dime has been minted from 1946 to the present, soon after the death of President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1945. When the dime was released January 30 he would have been 64. The reverse depicts a torch, olive branch, and oak branch, symbolizing liberty, peace, and strength, respectively. Carrying on the tradition of the Draped Bust, Capped Bust, Seated Liberty, Barber, and Mercury dimes, The Roosevelt comprised of 90% pure silver until 1964.
